A'hoy! It's a Boy!

Tomorrow I have a typical busy summer Saturday packed with parties. One of which is a baby shower for a sweet baby boy due this August. I started making burp clothes with initials about a year ago. I've learned that the more you do something the better you get. Practice really does make perfect. Each and every burp cloth I make comes out better and better. Here are the burp clothes I made for baby C.

I used Alphalicious for the C.

I used part of B is for Boy and Gypsy Wanderings for the Sailboat.

3 Year Blogoversary Hop

Welcome to the 3 Year Celebration for Carson's Creations

If you've come from Carri's blog, you are in the right place! If you just came across the hop, please start at the beginning over at Carson's Creations.

Hey, Yvette here. I'm really excited to participate in this blog hop today. It's been a very long time since I've posted something. When Georgiana asked me to participate in her 3 year Blogoversary I knew had to do it. Part of the reason is because I introduced her to the world of Cricut and crafting. Georgiana has done such a great job with her blog over the past few years. I love her creations and all the little touches she brings to each and everyone of them. I always tell her I wish I had more time to craft like her. I have two children at home, Olivia (almost 5) and Logan (1). Georgiana and I  joke that we should quit our day job as teachers and open up a boutique with all of our crafty creations. Maybe one day ;)

Ok, so the theme for this blog hop is anything 3. They say many things come in threes. One of which is babies. A lot of my friends last year were pregnant. When I say a lot, I mean A LOT. Most of our pregnancies happened in 3s. This year my son was the first in my little circle of friends to have his first birthday.  The two other babies that were in our group of three were born two months after Logan. So for my project I am going to share with you 3 chalkboards and birthday banners that were made for these 3 sweet babies.

Chalkboards are all over the place these days. I've seen several on Pinterest and all over craft stores. I even painted one of my white boards in my classroom with chalkboard paint. You can say I am a bit chalkboard obsessed. However, I just can't seem to get my handwritten chalk as good as some other people can. So I attempted to do it on the computer. I searched all over Pinterest and found a blog that had a picture of a chalkboard. I used Microsoft Publisher and inserted the image as a picture. Then I downloaded a bunch of chalkboard fonts (which I also searched Pinterest for). After the fonts were downloaded I inserted Word Art and adjusted the fonts, size, and color to my preference. I was so thrilled with the end result. Everyone was so enchanted by Logan's chalkboard at his first birthday that they asked me to make one for their child's first birthday.

Here they are.

After I got the file the way I wanted it I saved it as a PDF. Then I went to my local Staples Copy and Print Center and asked them to print it out in black and white. The size is 20 x 30. I bought a black foam board to glue the poster to. I just used a regular craft glue stick. The end result was an awesome chalkboard.

Here are the birthday banners.

Logan's birthday was at the lake and it just so happened to be a windy day. Here are the best pictures I could get.

Testing Motivational Treats

I made some treats for my 3rd graders for the FCAT testing. I'm getting ready to go on maternity leave so I wanted to give them something just to let them know I'm thinking about them. I do it every year and I hope this will motivate them to do their very best. I have an outstanding group of kiddos and I know they will make me proud. :)

Here are the treats!

Strawberry Birthday Sweetie

Here is a quick card I made for a sweet little birthday girl. I used Twinkle Toes which I love!!The images are super cute, but my favorite part about the cartridge is the sentiments and their frames!

Lately I've been trying to work on some stuff for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She is absolutely OBSESSED with TANGLED! I guess I am a little bit too. Have you seen the movie it is super cute!

So we are doing a Tangled theme. I will be sure to post pics of all the projects when I'm done.

It Only Took Me Forever!!!

It has been a very long time since I posted anything. I've been busy with life, school, and selling bags. My daughter's room has been looking a little blah lately and I wanted to spruce it up a bit. I bought her bedding from Target last summer on clearance for like $30.00. It is called the Sea and Me. Here is a pic.

For the longest time I wanted to make a hair bow holder. But could not find a ways to incorporate all the colors in the bedding. I went back and forth with the sea horse and a mermaid. Till finally I found the perfect combo. Now this is not my most favorite hair bow holder, but it will do. She got really excited about it...so I'll take that as a compliment.
